Theo Jansen Mechanism

For this engineering project, we worked with a partner to choose and create any type of complex mechanism which we had about six weeks to complete.

Here is a picture of our final product. We created a battery powered walking giraffe, whose leg design was inspired by Theo Jansen's wind-powered beach walking machines.

The most important thing doing this project taught me is the importance of perseverence. There were countless times during this project that my partner and I struggled with pieces breaking and not working and we felt like giving up; however, we were able to overcome each challenge we faced and our final product was so worth it in the end.
